He asked the Jew: "Would you accept a part of the debt to be paid to you now and postpone the rest for next year? The Prophet walked around the piled dates and invoked Allah's blessing. Then he said to Jabir : "Call them, and measure for them. As for Jabir he kept measuring the dates to his creditors until he fulfilled all the debts his father owed, and to his great amazement the piles of dates were still so high as if he did not take anything from them!
He could barely believe his eyes. Jabir returned home and related what has happened to his wife. I would have been very content if I would have paid all the debt and not a single date remained for us, but by Allah's grace, we still have most of our harvest!
Jabir had missed many battles because his father would order him to take care of his sisters while he was with the fighters. But after his father's death he had not missed any occasion to fulfill his duty of Jihad. One of the expeditions was especially dear to him, for a memorable event happened to him with the Prophet which he never tired to tell again and again. They were returning from the battle of Thatur-Riqaa' near the area of Najd.
The Prophet stopped for some time and lagged behind. While he was hastening his mount to reach his companions, he saw Jabir on his red camel at the end of the convoy. The camel was trotting slowly, and Jabir was hitting it vigorously with a stick, but it refused to speed up. He hit the camel lightly with the stick, and as soon as he did, it sprang and run as if a new life was given to it.
Jabir reached the head of the convoy, under the incredulous eyes of his friends who asked him what has happened to his camel. The sight of Jabir who could barely hold himself on his camel who was outpacing all the other camels, amused the Prophet. The Prophet kept increasing the price until he offered to buy it for one oke a unit of weight of gold. Then I returned to my wife.
And I told her that I had sold the camel. And she said to me some Anwar, go and give the candle to the Prophet system here and obey you have sold it tell us? No, you cannot now back out. Go give it to the prophets of the law who idea he was selling them.
So immediately the next morning, I went with the camel, sad and disheartened. And I tied it outside the house of the Prophet sallallahu sallam. There were posts there would not so I tied it outside to the processing. And I went inside the masjid waiting for him to wake up and to.
So he came outside. He said, What is this word? Why is there a camel outside my house? And they said this is the camel of Java. So he said a new Java. So Java stood up. And the profitsystem said, Oh, Bill, I'll go pay him the okiya go pay him that amount. Was it an increase? Go pay him what I promised and add a little bit more.
So he gave me the okiya and increased when I turned around to leave? He said yeah, Java Yebin. Aqui, or Java. Oh, nephew, oh, son, oh, young child, or young boy.
Did you think that we would trick you out of your camel. Take your money and take your camel. Okay, so, Java said that that amount that the processor gave it remained with me and continued to grow and grow and grow means I invested it and it continued to be with me. And to this day, I can still see its effects in my house. And it is said the narrator said that anytime somebody McJob it, he would always have spare coins in his pockets in his pouch basically into the head of purse or something that they had a you know thing that they would put their money and he would always just have coins, like from from, you know, the bulk of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
So this is the famous hadith of Jabba and the camel and there are so. Firstly, as I mentioned, actually a hadith The benefit is that this is one of those rare a hadith that has been reported in every single book of Hadith without exception that's rare to find a hadith that is reported in every single book. It is the hadith of Java. And in fact, as I said people have written in medieval times in classical times, entire treatise. The narrator is mentioned that this expedition the Japanese coming back from it was the expedition of that Total Recall, I mentioned it in my theater classes.
It's been a while since I made fun of the note taker, I don't even know how many items that have been given to you for the last six months all over the world, they say give our Saddam's to the note taker, and whatnot. I'll give you all those messages later on. So I'm saying the note taker, of course, remembers, has led to that recall, of course, he knows exactly how many people fought on both sides and the names of the tribes.
And what. All of this is known in his notes, those were two that a lot took place around 10 months after the Battle of oil. So Java has just lost his father has been 10 months, and he's gotten married. And now this incidents takes place over the benefits we derive from the hadith of Java and the camel is the humbleness of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam that job, it is surprised that he's at the end of the army. And lo and behold, who's next to him?
The profit system. So the Profit System is monitoring who's at the back, and he is intentionally slowing his own camel down to see who is at the back. And it is so rare, I would say exception, rather than a normal rule to find the leader who is worried about the lowest of the low.
And that's what makes our profits low, send them the profit. And who else is there that's monitoring the lowest of the low or the one who's the most behind in the army. Even Java is surprised he's all alone. He looks up and guess who's next to him? The one person who should be at the very front, he is with Java. And of course this is well known. Our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was always with the.
In fact, in a hadith Event Manager he actually said, What Logan if you do offer a come find me amongst your weak people find me amongst the lowly people, because in Martin Sorrell, our tourism, una bewafa.
It is because of the week that Allah will give his risk to you. And then Allah will send his help upon you, this hadith is even larger, it's actually a beautiful, how do you think about it? Why does the laws not sort of come down?
It's not because of the rich and the powerful and the arrogant, allows help comes upon the weakest of the weak upon the most Muslim upon the ones who think they have no one to help them other than Allah is because of them. Allah says,. It's not because of the rich and the elite, the reason why it rains, the reason why this crops growing, the reason why there's so many but I got the number one reason is because of your GPA, your weakest amongst you. And that's why the true leader will look at the weakest of the flock and Subhanallah how difficult that is, will lie how difficult that is to ignore or to overlook the rich and the powerful, and to rather look at the the weak and the lowly and this is our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
I don't need to tell you all of these incidents in the Sierra about his humility. The lady the Hadith in Bahati says, Can if you alkalete her she she had a. And so she came to the process of directly and said Yasuda law, I need to speak to you privately. It was well known she had, you know, she's mentally not saying, but she came up and she said, I need to speak to privately.
So the President said, Where do you want me to speak, she said, in this alleyway. So he followed and the audio and the public, she followed her, and he spoke with her until she explained whatever problem nobody knows what it is. And he calmed her down. And then he returned to the companions and imagine somebody who's mentally you know, not not normal, right? Still he is going and listening to her. Realistically the process of knew exactly who he was Think about it.
Yeah, there is a reason why he's at the back. He's notice Java is in the back, he is intentionally coming back. But in asking Who are you? It is. I mean, child meaning relatively years old, he's a young, he's not famous or elite at this point in time.
Eventually he will be very famous towards the end of his life right now. He's just a kid, literally a teenager. And he wouldn't expect that he is that known or famous, you know, to the Prophet system. Of course, the process knew him from the death of his father and he consoled him at the death of his father. But now when you. So he says it his job at ibn Abdullah and the process and then says why so sad. And once again, we are noticing the Profit System noticing these small details, right?
What is the matter? Why, again think he is a pseudo Lahontan with MBA when we're studying, and he is asking a 15 year old kid, why are you depressed? Think about that. Just think about why is our profits to some of the best human beings, because every person in his presence felt that he is concerned about me and only me, you know, this from this era, every person felt I am the most special out of all of the people. And that genuine concern is very, very rare and difficult to find, especially amongst people of fame and power and influence.
You get immune to the. But our Prophet system was not like that. Everybody felt I am the most special person in his presence.
And again, the famous had Ethan Timothy, that I've mentioned it some some time ago,. Okay, now think about that. I'm gonna Ross. He's not of the bidri Yun the more of the he just became a Mahajan. Okay, the very last batch of the Mahajan. Right The story of hotter than earlier than Earth, mandible.
And the very last batch. Remember if you remember the story from this era, he's the last batch he didn't participate in any of us war until the conquest of Makkah.
Because of the care and the concern the Profit System has for every Sahabi and so the process of responding what was the answer everybody knows was answer. So he became embarrassed, like, I didn't mean amongst women, I meant amongst men. So and still, he's thinking it will be me.
Okay, so what did the problem say? Boo ha, Abubakar. So he said, Okay, next. He said, Omar. Okay, next, said earthmen. Some versions, say others, and then goes after that we became quiet. I got the point. And if you're going to ask an awkward question, you're going to get the honest response. But the point here is, here is now we see why that is the case. Like it job, it is the center of.
So jabber now feels a sense of ease and comfort. And this shows again, the care that the processing gave to everybody.
In the obviously the the miracle of the camel, again, one of the the mortgages out of the Profit System, I don't need to go over all the other mortgages that's understood, some simple and a simple hits and tapping of the camel makes the camels so powerful. And by the way, this also shows that the tapping of the animals that is done that the the gentle hitting of the animals, this is permissible in Islam, what is impermissible is torture is pain and suffering.
As for the you know, like when you. And this is not something that is in any way or fashion, how long this is what is how communication is done, the animal is not in pain, and there's a stick that you just hit the the camel within a certain place. And that's not something that the camel is tortured at is the message how you get to the camel to be fast.
So the process of is using that stick, and he is using his foot and he pushes the camel to stand up. And when the camel stands up, it becomes the fastest camel, it is understood.
This is a miracle of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam of the 50 benefits as. You may ask somebody about purchasing an item, even if it's not advertised for sale, completely valid.
Okay, so you go to somebody's house you like something, say Oh, is that for sale? I like divided. It's hot. Now, whether it's wise or not, it's up to you. But it is completely valid to ask anybody if they want to sell something for any price. Now, our scholars mentioned that it is makrooh to ask, it is makrooh to ask somebody when.
You should only ask equals, you should not ask when you have such a high level of privilege over that he's gonna feel I have to sell and our scholars say the only reason the process of did it is because he didn't want to actually buy. We know at the end of the day, it doesn't actually buy the candle. Otherwise it would be more crude because you shouldn't, they say, purchase something with the sword of higher.
Don't have the sword of modesty dangling with a sword of like embarrassment like a very strong powerful figure comes in one something from your how are you going to say no to that, that is not a fair power balance here. So our scholars it is mcru in that case, but in our profit systems case, because he didn't actually want to buy it's not makrooh to do that it becomes permissible. We also see here the honesty of Java, he admitted to us in the Hadees, I did not want to sell and he didn't have to remember he's narrating this hadith when he is, you know, 70 years old or something.
So we're talking about he's narrating this hadith when he is an old man. Towards the end of his life, he became blind as well. And he's narrating these ahaadeeth he didn't have to tell his audience about his own weaknesses. But his honesty is shining through I didn't want to sell he mentioned that so that don't think that I'm being something extra holy or or whatnot. No, I did not want to sell. But he thought to himself, the process of is asking, and so from not wanting to sell, he jumps to the highest level of a HELOC and that is gifted.
And that requires a strong leap of faith and a strong sense of generosity and a strong belief in the blessings of serving Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as a young child of 16 years old, he understands Allah will reward him if he makes the Prophet system happy. And so he says, I'll gift it to you.
Yeah, Rasulullah. And it really shows how much he man this little kid must have had. He's a teenager, really how much he man he must have had, knowing that he has financial responsibility, knowing this is the only thing his father left him knowing he has nine sisters.
And he says, take it out of the law. And the back and forth 25 times indicates it wasn't a half hearted gesture. He meant. You know, it's one thing, take it in the process. I want to buy it. Okay, call us buy it No. No, you're a total that's a gift. No, I insist it's a gift. And this shows from the higher and the hjem. Immediately that a man comes out and he goes okay, if the process of once it, it shall be is such a strong a man, we will just marvel at that sense of faith in this young child.
And also think about it as well, that job is counted. Look at how eager he is to see how many times the process of saying law, federal law who lucky a job. He's counting 25 times the Profit System made is still far for me.
And our scholars mentioned that in the entire Sierra, we do not know of any Sahabi for whom is still followed was made in so much quantity in such a short period of time. Because the whole conversation was back and forth. No yada, yada, that's a gift your ancestors would have loved. Take a gentle soul, no call for a loan offer. No Sahabi has had this blessing of 25 times is that fall in the space of a few minutes, as far as we know. And this is it is said the highest blessing of Java that the process of did for Java.
So the Java says Carlos, I will sell it to you. And then of course begins the one did him and he goes what one did him. And this shows us how we are human beings, how psychologically challenged we are. You would rather give something for free, then sell it for a paltry pipe price. He's willing to give it for free once the bartering begins.
And it said, Okay, give it to me for what I did. That's not fair. Look, he was willing to give it for free. And this is handled, you know, what is said is that when you sell something for a high price, you value it.
And when it's for free, it doesn't have the same value, you know, so when you're giving it for free, you can take it but now. And this shows us again how weak human beings are he's not willing to sell it for a loss. Now, the question is, why did the Profit System insist to buy and then offer a paltry sum? We have I've given a hook, but was it a year ago about the humor of the Prophet system is online? Okay, give it a hold about the jokes of the Prophet system.
Our Prophet system was actually a humorous man. And all of his jokes were clean and halaal. And true and perfect. And in fact, they're even 50 benefits as we talked about in in the quote by mentioned as well.
He doesn't know Java does not know the ending. We know the ending what is going to be right. So he's teasing Java. Have it for two bucks. And he keeps on increasing. Because he wanted to give Java to something Java doesn't know this. And of course, there are so many, you know, stories of the Prophet salallahu it who has sentiment, you know, of them is the famous one where the process of would literally throw we would even call it.
Yeah, and you play pranks on somebody literally play pranks on somebody, the famous Sahabi whom there was a dhaba there was joking, you know, some people. There's some of those friends that are a special type of friendship that you just, you know, have that thing.
So there was one Sahabi, who would come and trade in Medina, he wasn't living in Medina, he would come and trade and leave and the process and had that relationship with Him. And one day he came in the process and saw him from the from behind he he did not see the Profit System and the process and became happy Oh, this man is here. So he came from behind quietly, without telling him who he is.
And the process of then held on to him from his back and said, Men. Okay, who's going to purchase this? Okay, so from the buyer, he became the merchandise that is sold, right? And it's a joke, it's hella because ABS could mean slave and it could mean worship of Allah. And all of the jokes of the Prophet system are correct. There's nothing that is any falsehood or any lie, man yesterday had that.
Who's going to purchase this Abbot? And when the President said avid, he means servant of Allah. He doesn't mean slave. And so the man became, you know, for us, what is this? And then when he saw it is the prophets little law, why do you say to them, he just became limp. And he allowed his back to touch. Why do you send them? And he said, yeah, this little law, if you want to sell me, another piece, I'm cheap, who's gonna buy me, my price is so cheap, who's gonna buy me and our profits SM said, No, rather, you're expensive in the eyes of Allah, you're hardly in the eyes of Allah subhana wa, tada, you're very expensive.
So these are the jokes of the Prophet system. So this is one of those examples of a halaal teasing, like, nothing is wrong. If you say I want to buy it for a denim, for one silver coin, nothing is wrong and saying that, and it's gonna kind of it's a tease to Jabba. So it increases until finally, he gets to the opia.
In jobber, saying no, we also learn it is permissible to say no, even to the prophets of the law is the law. If the context indicates that this is not a shadowy command,. And this is also demonstrated in the famous hadith of buddy at Ah, the famous hadith of buddy at all, but he was a.
And when a person becomes free, they have the option of remaining married or holding the marriage. And her husband's name was belief. But you know, unbelief were married. And but he became a free lady. And so she decided to divorce her husband is one of the times that a woman is allowed to divorce the husband or the technical terms of the marriage, but the point is to know the marriage, so buddy decides to annul the marriage. And Melissa now is in love with buddy at all. And Molly's an Ibis said I remember as a child seeing relief, walking behind Madeira, crying in the streets of Medina, begging her to take.
Okay, he's begging her take me back we can do it we can make it work out. We don't know the stories of why there was this animosity or whatnot. But the prophets have said to us even our buses father our bus he said, Oh I bus Aren't you amazed how much movies loves buddy era? And how much buddy era despises movies? Aren't you amazed at this relationship?
Why don't. I'll do it at that madonia rasulillah. So he or she is asking, Is this an hour? And he said, law in Nima Anna shaffir. I'm just reconciling. I my job is just to try to patch things up. I mean, if it's possible, this problem is not it's not. So then she responded with the scoring that only a woman can possibly muster the Hagerty fee. I have no need of this guy. And the marriage did not resume. So the point is that she asks the Prophet system, what. And this demonstrates just like over here, from the hadith of unece, as well, it demonstrates that those things that the process is not commanding you.
And by the way, this cannot apply to us now is gone now, because this is our process. And when he lived in Medina, he has to do things as a human being. For us. This is now something we just learned in the books of fiction, what not in reality that he did that he commanded us for a Baghdad, for rituals for tahara, this is our shediac it becomes Australia, but when he lived in Medina, buying and selling, doing other things of this nature, so Subhana Allah, He is a human being in those things, he doesn't have.
Java says, I'm not interested in this price, until finally, we get to the Hadeeth of the amount of an op yet. We also learned from here that once the price is negotiated, it is soon enough and it is healthy, and it is good to do what to make sure that the person is happy. Because the Profit System confirmed with him. Are you okay with this price. And this is a very interesting tangent of Islamic film, which will shock many of you because most Muslims never heard of these things.
The majority of muda hip the hand of the sorry, the Maliki shafter is in Hamburg, these, they actually have this in their books of filth, and it is something well known.
But unfortunately, we have lost these basic etickets. And that is that. As long as you haven't separated after doing the contract. Like if you change your mind on the spot,. You purchase the car, you hand it over and then you're like, Nah, man, that wasn't that wasn't, he sold me a lemon. I'm not gonna do this. Give it back.
I changed my mind. Now in western law, or whatever they call us after it's done, the transaction is on call us. Nevertheless, whatever the case may be, it illustrates the kindness of the Holy Prophet sa towards his companions and shows the miraculous nature of his prayers. This land of mine was situated on the way to a well, named Roma. Once, a whole year had passed but it bore little fruit and even they were not fully ripe. During the harvest season, the Jewish man, as was his custom, came to acquire repayment of the loan taken from him.
However, I had not harvested any fruit that year. He intended that perhaps in this way the entire orchard would fall into his possession. I will not give him any respite. Observing this conduct of the Jewish man, the Holy Prophet sa walked around the date palms once and again spoke to him. However, he refused again. During this time, I took some dates from the garden and presented them to the Holy Prophet sa , which he ate.
The Holy Prophet sa fell asleep. When he woke up, I once again brought him a handful of dates, from which he ate a few. He then stood up and spoke to the Jewish man once again. Yet, he still refused. I started to harvest the fruit and in the meantime, the Holy Prophet sa stood among the date palms. I harvested the fruit and repaid the entire loan taken from the Jewish man, yet even then some dates were left over.
This miraculous event transpired because God Almighty hears my prayers and blesses my endeavours. Thus, from this incident where we observe the kindness and the acceptance of the prayers of the Holy Prophet sa — as a result of which the fruit was blessed — at the same time we also witness the eagerness of the companions in relation to paying off their debts. This spirit should be the distinctive characteristic of a true believer.
At times, we see in our society that despite calling ourselves Ahmadis, we do not pay any heed towards this and prolong the matter of paying off debts. Sometimes years pass by in which the lawsuits are ongoing.
Therefore we should always be mindful of this and also remember the words of the Promised Messiah as where he stated that having taken the oath of allegiance with him, one should adopt and follow the examples of the companions. Only then can that beautiful society be established, which was destined following the advent of the Mahdi and the Messiah. Malfuzat, Vol. There is another narration by Hazrat Jabir in relation to the importance of paying off debts.
However before I relate this, I will mention another incident. In some narrations it is stated that when Hazrat Umar ra learnt that the debt had been paid off, he also arrived at the same place. The reason for this is that when you walked around the garden once, I was certain that his entire debt would now be paid off.
