Wetlands The Gaban area is one of the possible bedrock sources of the alluvial gold being mined in the drainages at Gaban and also at the giant Madre De Dios alluvial gold fields 40 kilometres north of Gaban.

During field campaigns in and , Winshear has outlined a gold anomaly that measures some by metres. Winshear intends to drill the first holes ever drilled at Gaban in , and to that end has begun the drill permitting process.
